The Leadership Lincoln Flagship Program is an opportunity for local civic leaders to build relationships, collaborate with others and better understand the Lincoln community. Friendship Home’s Development Director, Dani Jurgens, recently graduated with the program’s Flagship 41 class.
“I joined Leadership Lincoln because I wanted to continue growing as a leader, and this experience reinforced for me that leadership takes work, time, dedication, commitment and willingness to continue learning,” she said.
During the nine-month program, Dani participated in seminars, activities and open discussions to further her development as a leader. It challenged her to look beyond her individual role into how leaders can impact their organizations and the city as a collective.
She noted that for Friendship Home leaders, the experience, “creates opportunities to grow not only as professionals but as advocates who are deeply connected to the community we serve.”
As Development Director, Dani is responsible for connecting Friendship Home to the community, and her time with the Flagship cohort strengthened her passion for leadership and service.
“Over these past nine months, I have learned that leadership is not about having all the answers; it is about showing up consistently, being willing to grow, and working alongside others to create lasting impact,” she said.
Dani left the Leadership Lincoln program feeling inspired, connected and even more committed to Friendship Home’s mission. She is looking forward to taking what she learned and continuing to grow to better serve survivors in the Lincoln community.
