Winter Appeal
As we welcome a New Year, it’s a time for new beginnings and fresh hopes. However, for many survivors of domestic violence, the promise of a new start can seem out of reach. With your heartfelt support, Friendship Home can provide a nurturing environment for survivors of domestic violence and their children, offering them the opportunity for a fresh start—a chance to heal and rebuild.
For over 45 years, we have been committed to creating brighter futures by providing support, shelter and safety when it’s most needed. Through services like emergency shelter, crisis management, and advocacy, we offer compassionate assistance to help survivors understand and overcome their trauma. Our goal is to guide them towards reclaiming their personal strength and resilience, empowering them to rebuild their lives.
Sadly, the demand for our services is growing. In 2023 alone, we assisted over 1,664 survivors and their children in Nebraska, an increase from 2022. Our New Year’s resolution is clear and urgent: to expand our programs to reach every survivor in need.
As a nonprofit organization, we rely on the generosity of kind-hearted donors like you to sustain our services. Without ongoing funding, we won’t be able to achieve all our goals for 2024. Therefore, we humbly ask for your support. Your monetary donation will help us operate our programs and provide essentials such as winter clothing, transportation, food, shelter, toiletries, bedding supplies, and more for survivors and their children seeking our help. Even a simple pair of gloves for a
child, a bottle of shampoo for a mother, or a bedding item for our shelter can make a world of difference.
If you have previously donated to Friendship Home, we sincerely thank you for your kindness and ask you to consider another contribution to help us meet the increased demand. If you are new to Friendship Home, we appreciate your consideration and assure you that any gift, regardless of size, can create a ripple of change.
Until we live in a community without domestic violence, Friendship Home will always be here, reaching out to offer support and hope for a brighter future. Thank you for your consideration, generosity, and belief in the power of change.
With gratitude,
Leah Droge, Executive Director
