Lincoln Covid Sewists

May 21, 2021

Over 61 weeks and 34,386 masks, 585 surgical scrub caps, 269 hospital gowns, and 12 pairs of surgical shoe covers later, the Lincoln Covid Sewists made a HUGE contribution to 75 local organizations, including Friendship Home!

The Lincoln Covid Sewists consists of 110 sewists and donors who donated material.  The group also made two giant mask-shaped quilts for two local museums that have 90-100 masks attached.  You have the opportunity to view these quilts on Friday, June 4th at the International Quilt Museum at 5:30 pm and then on Saturday, June 5th at the Nebraska History Museum at 11:00 am.

We are so grateful to the Lincoln Covid Sewists who helped keep Friendship Home protected throughout the pandemic.

You can read more about this amazing group in the October 2020 issue of the Lincoln Journal Star.
