Stuff the Bus Raises over $72,000 for Survivors of Domestic Violence

Summer-2020

We’re blown away and so deeply grateful. This year’s Stuff the Bus event raised more than $72,000 in item donations and financial gifts to support those who are experiencing domestic violence.

On April 12th and 13th, generous shoppers at Walmart and Sam’s Club helped us STUFF four StarTran Buses with essential items: from toiletries to cleaning supplies to diapers, baby formula, and non-perishable food. These highly needed donations go directly to families at Friendship Home who are rebuilding their lives after escaping abuse

In addition to the goods collected, our community provided monetary support and gift cards – funds that help us provide emergency shelter, crisis services, and transitional housing

We extend our deepest thanks to our amazing partners who made this event possible:

  • StarTran for once again providing FOUR buses that served as a powerful symbol of community care and support.
  • Walmart and Sam’s Club for welcoming us and encouraging shoppers to give generously,
  • And our incredible volunteers, who gave their time, hearts, and voices to make this event run smoothly.

Finally, thank you to every shopper who paused their day to donate. Whether it was a tube of toothpaste or a cart full of essentials, your generosity helps create a future filled with safety and hope. Together, you showed survivors they are not alone – and that this community is behind them.

From all of us at Friendship Home, thank you for helping us Stuff the Bus with hope and empowering freedom from domestic violence.
