ShelterMe Nebraska Services Transition to Friendship Home

We are excited to share that ShelterMe Nebraska will be transitioning its services to Friendship Home to enhance the support available to individuals impacted by domestic violence in our community.

ShelterMe has been a valuable resource in ensuring that survivors of domestic violence and their pets could remain together while finding safety, offering temporary housing and foster care for animals. With this transition, Friendship Home will expand its survivor-centered care by integrating ShelterMe’s services. This ensures that families do not have to make the difficult choice between safety and their beloved animals.

Friendship Home has long been committed to providing a survivor-centered approach to our services. This means that everything we do is focused on the needs, choices, and empowerment of the survivors we serve. Our priority is to create a safe, confidential space where survivors can begin the journey of healing. This includes a continuum of shelter options—from emergency shelter through transitional housing while offering crisis intervention services, personalized case management, and emotional support.

This consolidation allows us to provide an even stronger, more comprehensive support system, ensuring that all survivors, along with their pets, receive the care they deserve. It also affirms our commitment to creating a community where survivors are heard, respected, and supported in their own decisions, free from judgment or barriers.

We want to reassure our partners, clients, and supporters that this transition will only enhance the quality of care and services we provide. Our survivor-centered approach will remain at the core of everything we do, ensuring that the needs and voices of those we serve are always prioritized.

Thank you for your continued support as we move forward in this exciting new chapter.
