Friendship Home’s Own Honored as Inspire Award Finalists

Friendship Home is proud to share the exciting news that two extraordinary women connected to our mission, Leah Droge (Executive Director), and Cathy Parker (Volunteer), were recognized as finalists at the 2025 Inspire Awards.

The Inspire Awards celebrate women in Lincoln who make remarkable contributions in leadership, service, and advocacy. With a record-breaking 370 nominations this year, being honored is truly an incredible recognition.

Excellence in Nonprofit Award: Leah Droge
Leah, our Executive Director, was a finalist for the Excellence in Nonprofit Award. This honor recognizes women who go above and beyond in nonprofit leadership, empowering colleagues, collaborating for the greater good, and improving the lives of others in the community.

At Friendship Home, Leah leads with confidence, clarity, and passion. She ensures that survivors of domestic violence have safety, support, and hope, while also inspiring our staff with her steady leadership. This recognition reflects what our team sees from her every day.

Excellence in Philanthropy Award: Cathy Parker
Our dedicated volunteer, Cathy Parker, was a finalist for the Excellence in Philanthropy Award. This recognition is reserved for philanthropists who make a significant impact through volunteer service, talent, or financial contributions.

Cathy has donated countless hours to Friendship Home, organizing donations so survivors have immediate access to what they need and providing administrative support that strengthens our service center. Her dedication creates a lasting impact for both staff and survivors.

The Inspire Awards remind us that change happens because of people, individuals who lead, volunteer, give, and uplift others. Every nominee, finalist, and award winner carries forward the light of hope in our community. Today, we celebrate not just Leah and Cathy, but all who were honored, for the way they make Lincoln a stronger, kinder, and more compassionate place to call home. Congratulations to all the nominees, finalists, and award winners!
