A Letter from the Executive Director

The holidays are a time of joy, giving us a chance to be surrounded by friends and family, to share laughs, and to make happy memories. For adults and children experiencing domestic violence, what should be a season of joy can be a challenging and isolating time.

Luckily, no one must feel alone. With support from kind and generous community members like you, Friendship Home has been empowering survivors of domestic violence to break free and reclaim the joy,
security, and love they deserve —not just for the holidays, but for a lifetime.

For 45 years, we’ve helped countless survivors escape abusive situations and start believing in a brighter future. Last year alone, through programs like Crisis Services, Emergency Shelter, and Transitional Housing, our trained advocates touched the lives of over 1,500 adults and children by offering shelter, support, food, and other vital services at a critical hour.

As you sit with your families this holiday season, I ask you to think about those who are in an unsafe relationship. Your generosity can be a survivor’s first step toward safety.
