For more than two decades, Willy has been a steadfast and beloved presence at Friendship Home. As our longtime Facilities Coordinator, Willy has played a crucial role in maintaining the spaces where healing happens. Now, as he steps into a well-earned retirement, we want to take a moment to celebrate his incredible impact on our team, our mission, and the countless survivors and children who have come through our doors.
From making sure every space is safe, welcoming, and dignified to handling repairs and projects with skill and care, Willy has embodied what it means to serve with heart. His attention to detail and quiet dedication have helped create an environment where survivors feel respected and supported.
Beyond his work ethic, Willy is known for his legendary sense of humor. A true prankster, he’s kept our team smiling with his playful spirit and long list of affectionate nicknames for his colleagues. His kindness and warmth have made Friendship Home a better place for everyone.
Over the years, we have heard countless compliments about our outstanding facilities team—community partners and donors often remark on the professionalism and kindness they witness. For the women and children, we serve, Willy has been a shining example of what a positive and caring male presence looks like.
Thank you, Willy. You will be missed more than words can say.
