Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving that celebrates generosity worldwide. Join millions of others around the world, following the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and help kick off the holiday season of giving.
#GivingTuesday demonstrates how every act of kindness counts, and that it means, even more, when we do it together. Giving is not one size fits all; there are many ways to give back during the holiday season. This year, Friendship Home wants to encourage you to give your way on #GivingTuesday.
Here are some ways to get involved with Friendship Home and help victims of domestic violence and their children rebuild their lives.
Host a Drive: Due to COVID-19, we have been running low on highly needed supplies such as laundry detergent, hand sanitizer, Clorox Wipes, and hygiene items. If you are interested in setting up a no-contact drive, email Dani or call her at 402-434-0167 for more information.
Volunteer: We could always use an extra hand during the holidays. If you are interested in volunteering, learning more about volunteer opportunities, visit the How You Can Help page and fill out an application.
Attend a Welcome MAT: Join Friendship Home staff for a 45 minute, inspirational Welcome MAT. The presentation is designed to give you a greater understanding of the work Friendship Home does every day with victims of domestic violence and their children. Learn more about our Welcome MAT’s.
Spread Awareness: Our goal is for every household in Lincoln and Lancaster County to know about the life-saving resources Friendship Home provides. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram and share our posts to help us reach a larger audience.
Financial Gifts: Your financial gifts ensure that Friendship Home can continue to offer safety and support as women and children in our community escape domestic violence and begin to rebuild their lives. Keep an eye out for the link to give.
Let’s all join to empower freedom from domestic violence.
