The following volunteer opportunities involve working in the shelter directly with residents:
Children’s Advocate Volunteers will:
- Facilitate children’s support groups
- Provide childcare during resident’s support groups
- Work one-on-one with kids in our “match” program
Host Your Own Class
- Be creative and facilitate a children’s or resident’s group in the evening.
- Share your ideas with us!
There are a lot of things that go into making a house a home. Assistance is needed to keep Friendship Home safe, sound and well supplied. Facility Volunteers aid in:
- Yard work
- Sorting and organizing donations
- Minor shelter repairs
- “Restocking” units
- “Makeover” a room in shelter or an apartment
Since our agency is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, scheduling for this position is flexible and can be worked out to fit your personal schedule.

Become a Champion
Champions introduce Friendship Home to others in the community through Welcome MATs (Mission Advancement Talks) and help grow our mission: to support, shelter and advocate for victims of domestic violence and their children. All you need is a passion for this mission!

Volunteer at Friendship Home’s fundraising events: Safe Quarters and Stuff the Bus. These events are completely dependent on our dedicated volunteers and raise thousands of dollars in goods and funds to ensure Friendship Home’s doors remain open to those in need.
